Some friends from Gainesville from our church, Christ Community, threw me a "Long Distance" baby shower!!! so they mailed the gifts, and when they got here, Jason and i threw the shower and had a blast. :O) we were both overwhelmed with their thoughtfulness...we will never forget it.

we flew out to San Antonio a few weeks ago and found our first new home! the lord was so good to us and led us right to it on the first day! we feel very very blessed! we will be moving on may 22nd!

st. patrick's day is our pastors (Rob) birthday. so at staff meeting on march 17, we celebrated with my homemade banana muffins, and lots of green festivities. :O)

Gate River Run 2008!

on saturday, march 8, jason and i ran our THIRD Gate River Run! Sadly, it will be our last as we are moving to Texas in a couple of months. :O( We had a GREAT time though! several others from church run as well and we have a big "carb loading" dinner the night before.
saturday turned out beautiful for the race (which is in jacksonville, fl), except it was freezing cold prior to running, and it was SOOOOOO windy that i thought i might fly off the bridge!! it sure did make for an interesting run though!

well, yesterday at 7:30am, we checked Jason's email and there it was...the results of the JSGME match! with sweaty palms we opened the email and....

HE GOT IT!!!!

i am so proud of him!

we both are so excited about the Lord's leading in our lives and are finding great comfort in knowing that this is where He picked for us to be.

So this summer we will be headed to San Antonio, Texas. We plan to buy cowboy hats and boots very soon.

i have such a good husband. he cares so much about me...even when i am un-loveable.

yesterday got off on the wrong foot and thus made it a "bad" day. after dinner, though, jason took me out and wouldn't tell me where we were going. stop #1 ended up being starbucks to split a venti tuxedo, skim milk, no whip, no foam (see, jason knows me well enough to know that i would rather save some money and have us split something than us each get our own...knowing that we were going to spend a little more money at stop #2) (he also knows me well enough to know that is my favorite drink!).
stop #2 was the mall where he led me straight to Anne Taylor where he bought me the earings i had raved over a couple of weeks ago.

i'm sure most of you know this...but for everyone else...JASON IS HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he came home sunday afternoon and it is just SO good to be back together again! 2 months was a long time.

everything else is pretty much back to normal. still working at the church office. i am on the Women's Bible study team, so that is fun. i really enjoy it.

Jason is still in the application process. We should find out if we get into the program in San Antonio, TX mid-December. if we do not get in there, we will interview a bunch of places in January, and find out in March where we will be.

been a while...

okay, i know...it has been way too long since i last posted a blog. so let me try to catch everyone up.

jason is almost back from Texas. He is loving his rotation out there and really likes the program...so please pray for us. just that the Lord's will be done and that we will trust that He will put us in the best place...whether that be what WE thought was best or not.

basically, here is how it works...he wants to do ophthalmology and since he is in the air force, he has to do his residency w/ them. well, they only have one air force base hospital that offers an ophthalmology residency, and that is in SanAntonio, TX. So he went out there for a couple months to make sure they could put a face to a name when they go over his application. it is a highly competitive program and they only let 4 people who will apply this year in. so! we are going for it. if he does NOT get in, we will do a transitional year at one of the 8 places we have applied, and then probably end up serving out our 3 years in the air force as a general doctor and THEN doing an opthalmology residency once we are finished w/ the air force.

anyway...not that the Lord couldn't change ALL of that and put us somewhere we never expected, but that is how it is looking right now.

i just got back from visiting jason in San Antonio for about a week, and we had SUCH a great time. i miss him like crazy. we got to go to SeaWorld and go all around SanAntonio. I looked around at houses quite a bit while he was working, just to kinda get a feel for where we might end up. it is a big city, so that will take some getting used to...but i like it. :O)

i got to work an hour early this morning after being dropped off by the taxi service that the honda dealership provides. yup, cars in the shop getting service done, and i need some coffee. there is none to be had, unfortunately.

jason and i are doing well, and looking forward to knowing what will happen with us next year. still a lot of guesses. he still has not received his board scores, so we are anxiously waiting to hear about that.

i feel as though i am rambling, so i am going to go and get to work.

Update on Jason:
well, jason finished 3rd year on Thursday, June 21, and on Friday began studying 15 hour days for the: USMLE STEP 2
It was last summer at this same time that he was studying for the USMLE STEP 1. This Step 2 is the one you take during 4th year and have to pass to become a doctor. :o) woohoo!

So please, we need your prayers. Jason will take the exam at 8:00am on July 6th (Friday).

Update on Me:
i have a photo shoot of a 2yr. old boy this coming Saturday...i'm excited about that. then on the 14th, i will photograph amanda outlaw's wedding! So i will be back in good 'ol Troy, Alabama for that weekend and am kinda excited about that! i haven't been back since i graduated in Dec. '04!

monday, june 11, was our 2nd wedding anniversary! we had a wonderful day. jason brought me starbucks (tuxedo), roses, and a card while i was getting ready for work. the card had a treasure map and clues in it (along with a really sweet note). The map just had a start and finish with instructions that i had to figure out where the start was...using the clues: 1. God 2. Antique. it also said to have an overnight bag packed and to be ready to go at 5:30pm. after wracking my brain all day, i still had no clue what the clues were or where the map led. so that night jason gave me a few more clues and here is what un-folded:
The "Antique" was for the town of Micanopy, which is where the map led to (from our appartment). In Micanopy we stayed at an amazing bed & breakfast (pictured here).
"God" was for where he took me to dinner that night- "The Soveriegn" is what it is called. very nice fine dining.
He bought me some gorgeous cameo earings from my favorite store in Micanopy about a month ago. he spoils me!!!!
